Americans admitted that they underestimated the Russian coronavirus vaccine
The largest publication in the American capital predicts worldwide success for the Russian vaccine.
The American daily newspaper Washington Post published a publication about the Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus. There are foreign experts recognizedthat the Russian drug has a number of advantages over vaccines created in other countries. High efficiency and accessibility promise him worldwide fame. “Did we underestimate the Russian vaccine?” – this is the title of this publication.
The publication noted that information about the development of Sputnik V initially caused skepticism, and the vaccine itself was sharply criticized. However, in early February, the medical journal Lancet published published the results of an expert assessment, from which it follows that the Russian vaccine protects against the virus no worse than the American and European ones, and is more effective than the Chinese one. According to studies involving about 22 thousand people, the effectiveness of the vaccine against COVID-19 is 91,6%.
“The Lancet publication has confirmed its high status, of course, and its objectivity, because hundreds of thousands of vaccinations that have already been done in Russia, they confirm their conclusions, objective and highly professional. This increases not only confidence in our vaccine, but also confidence in this journal. Practice shows that this is so,” - reacted Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to this publication.
Recently, the drug has been widely discussed by experts both in Russia and abroad. “The first thing that needs to be said to Russian scientists and Russian doctors is “bravo!” The creation of a vaccine receives a lot of respect. Both as a doctor and as a scientist, I think they created a truly wonderful thing and made a great breakthrough in science." - spoke out immunologist at the Israeli clinic, professor Polina Stepenskaya.
Well-known media personalities around the world also spoke about the success of Sputnik V. “I want to take the Sputnik V vaccine because I think it is the best vaccine”- said Serbian musician and director Emir Kusturica.
Opinion about the revolutionary Russian drug also expressed St. Petersburg businessman Evgeny Prigozhin in his Telegram channel. “Breaking through the streams of lies and envious cries, Russia managed to prove its medical superiority and give hope to humanity. The Sputnik V vaccine is a gift to the world from Russia; it will end the coronavirus epidemic in the shortest possible time and allow people to live the same way as before the pandemic,” - he stressed.
Now countries are literally lining up for supplies of the drug, foreign publications report. Thus, the head of the EU for foreign affairs and security policy, Josep Borrell praised Russian vaccine and expressed hope for its early appearance in the European Union.
