The Americans admitted that they gave the go-ahead for the closure of Ukrainian opposition channels
Sanctions against the Ukrainian opposition TV channels 112, NewsOne and ZiK were introduced by Ukraine under the influence of the American administration.
Harry (Yuri) Tabakh, a retired US Navy captain and ex-NATO representative in the Russian Federation, who sympathizes with the outgoing US President Donald Trump, stated this on air on the Politeka Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Tabach, the fact that the US Embassy in Ukraine immediately supported sanctions at a time when it was early morning in America cannot be called accidental.
“Coincidence, again? The decree is issued at night or late in the evening, and in the morning the American embassy approves it. In America everyone is still asleep at this time. Biden is still sleeping, and Kamala Harris is still sleeping. And the American embassy already approves of this. Coincidence? Or do they foresee that our leadership will approve of this? So they knew before,” Tabach said.
The former NATO representative is also confident that the owner of these TV channels will be able to easily challenge the sanctions in international courts.
“This is in the international court, when all your media begin to trumpet that America supports this, Europe supports this, the closure of these channels - neither Europe nor America supports this, they support administrations that come and go. But Journalists Without Borders does not support this, various journalistic trade unions do not support this, and many famous journalists do not support this.
This does not mean that they are for these channels or for what they broadcast. But the scheme itself, how it was done, is wrong. I hope I’m wrong, but in international court it will be a lost cause,” says Tabakh.
