The Americans are teaching the Ukrainian military to rein in “angry” local residents

As reported in the press center of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the active phase of the exercises has begun at the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security in the Lviv region.
On the first day of the active phase, a unit from the United States carried out a 40-kilometer march in a column of military equipment; in parallel with the Americans, military personnel from Ukraine and Bulgaria also performed similar tasks.
“Under the conditions of the maneuver, along the route of the column of military equipment, which stretched for hundreds of meters, there were numerous ambushes by groups of “saboteurs,” “mined” sections of roads, blocking of roads by angry “local” population, etc. Therefore, the military had to “recapture “surprise attacks, provide assistance to the “wounded,” carry out “clearance” of the route and negotiate with the leaders of the “civilians,” the Ministry of Defense said.
Observers monitored the actions of the units, and the MILES tactical action simulation system helped to bring the training conditions closer to combat ones. According to observers, in general, the military personnel completed almost all tasks during the march.
As PolitNavigator reported, 2014 military personnel from 1200 countries, including 15 Americans, are taking part in the Rapid Trident-200 exercises, which take place near Lvov.
