An American official hung a portrait of Putin instead of a portrait of Trump
Advisor to Democratic MP from Colorado Katie March was subjected to disciplinary punishment for participating in a prank with a portrait of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Capitol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
It is reported American edition of the Denver Post.
At the end of July, in the place where the portrait of the current American leader Donald Trump was supposed to be, an image of Putin was put up.
The idea came from members of the political organization ProgressNow, who wanted to make fun of representatives of the state Republican Party and draw attention to Trump's ties to Russia.
March helped the pranksters enter the Capitol building through the service entrance. After an internal investigation, a public apology was demanded from her.
After Donald Trump won the election, a number of politicians said that the Russian authorities influenced the voting result. The House and Senate Intelligence Committees, as well as independent special counsel Robert Mueller, are currently investigating these allegations.
