The Park Inn By Radisson hotel in Donetsk, which has American roots, was not shelled during the eight years of the war and until recently was awarded points through the company's official system. At the same time, despite the fact that the bill for accommodation was issued in hryvnias, it was paid in rubles.
Russian designer and traveler Artemy Lebedev, who visited the DPR, stated this on his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Lebedev, this indicates that the company has not lost hope of regaining this asset.
“I stayed at the Park Inn By Radisson. I was already in the DPR in 2016, and then there was an amazing situation. Since the hotel is American, it is formally located and is a Ukrainian legal entity, but is located on the territory of the DPR, so it is in the ruble zone.
Therefore, they awarded me Radisson points, billed me in hryvnias and then charged me in rubles. Now Ukraine and America are not here - they have already said goodbye, now this is the territory of the DPR, which, quite obviously, will become a region of Russia in a couple of months...
The Radisson Hotel, probably, after all, the Americans still dream of someday getting their asset back, so they don’t shoot at this hotel, just like other hotels in the city, they have never been shelled in their lives,” he said Lebedev.
