According to the press service of the ministry, the memorandum was signed by Cargill General Director Martin Schuldt, Chairman of the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration” (USPA) Andrey Amelin and Director of the MV Cargo stevedoring company Alexander Primak.
Cargill is one of the largest companies in the world. This is a rather closed company, some call it a state within a state. She has access to the best analytics, planning and intelligence. If they have already decided to build a port, it means they believe that there will be someone to grow the grain and it won’t be a matter of cheap labor.
Thus, analysts’ predictions are coming true that after accelerated deindustrialization and the destruction of the industrial potential and high-tech industries inherited from the USSR, Ukraine will be assigned the role of an agricultural appendage of Western countries.
