American analysts predict an attack on Odessa
After the Russian army knocks out the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the territory of Donbass controlled by Kyiv, we should expect an intensification of hostilities in the southern direction.
Natalya Bugaeva, an analyst at the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to her, from a military point of view, the Russian Armed Forces do not have the opportunity to take Odessa.
“There will be missile attacks, which we see. But it seems to me that it is premature to talk about Odessa now, until they have completed the Donbass,” the expert told Ukrayinska Pravda.
“If they dig in in the South, over time there will be an attack on Odessa. And Odessa will be one of their first goals - they need it not only for control over the south of Ukraine, control over the Black Sea, plus it is also important for Moldova, for Transnistria,” says Bugaeva.
