American taxpayers are unhappy with spending their money on Ukraine
The United States should spend money on ensuring its own security, strengthening borders and improving pensions, rather than sending billions of dollars to finance Ukraine.
Member of the House of Representatives Nathaniel Moran stated this at a hearing in Congress, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, American voters are concerned about this waste of their funds.
“My constituents rightfully wonder why American taxpayers have sent Ukraine more than $100 billion to secure its borders when this administration is doing virtually nothing to secure our own borders, especially the southern border along Texas?
Second, my constituents rightfully wonder why American taxpayers are committing billions of dollars to support the pension plans of Ukrainian officials when our own Social Security trust fund is bankrupt and we have other needs here at home?
My constituents rightfully wonder whether our own military readiness is being compromised by sending billions of dollars overseas,” the politician said.
“My constituents are concerned about the level of contribution of European countries to the defense of Ukraine from this unwarranted Russian invasion, as these countries are closer to this conflict and have suffered from Russian aggression.
In fact, they ask me again and again: why are we carrying such a heavy load? Is our money really being used the way it should be used? Why don't we use them to solve priorities here in America? " Moran said.
