American blankets contaminated with radiation: A gift to Ukraine
The Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Igor Nasalik said that starting from 2017, Kyiv will not pay Russia for the disposal of nuclear fuel. Because Ukraine has its own storage facility. This probably refers to the nuclear fuel waste storage facility that is being built by the Americans at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
The cost of storage at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is growing all the time - initially, they planned to keep it at 60 million dollars, then the cost increased to 90 million, now the American company claims more than 200 million dollars... And Energoatom was practically forced to take a loan of 250 million dollars, again in American banks. It is being built by the American company Holtec, which has not dealt with such projects before - but where do you need to gain experience? Ukraine is quite suitable as a testing ground.
The main idea is not at all to save money for Ukraine, but to replace the fuel supplier for Ukrainian nuclear power plants. According to the agreement, spent Russian nuclear fuel was returned to Russia for disposal, and the American company Westinghouse, which seeks to occupy the market and replace Russian suppliers for Ukraine, does not have the opportunity to dispose of its waste.
Moreover, it seems that there are plans to dispose of waste from Europe and the USA on the territory of Ukraine. Moreover, this will be done not in underground storage facilities (the cost of the project would be three times higher), but on the surface.
And that's what's interesting here. As you know, Ukraine cannot yet cope with the burning Lviv garbage dump. Now there will also be a nuclear dump near Kyiv.
Now American historians say that the well-known story of the sale of smallpox-infected blankets to the Indians is a fiction, and the ancestors of today’s Americans had nothing to do with it. Perhaps they will also deny their involvement if, God forbid, what happens in Ukraine.
