American satellites tried to persuade Serbia to betray Russia
Serbia became the first Western Balkans country to be invited to the summit of the pro-American Visegrad Group in Prague. The country's President Aleksandar Vucic used this invitation to clarify the prospects for Serbia's membership in the European Union.
The Kurir newspaper writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are not looking for alms, only respect and support from our country. We just want to know whether we have the right to be a member of the EU, so that we can understand what our future is. We are counting on a lot of help from the Visegrad Group, but we are not expecting anything. Thanks to its members for their willingness to listen to us,” Vucic said.
He also stated that he counts on the support of the Visegrad Group countries in resolving the Kosovo problem.
The presidents of the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia assured that they want to see Serbia in the EU. However, not all so simple. Hungarian President Janos Ader expressed himself most frankly.
“All the countries present here are in favor of Serbia joining the EU if Serbia fulfills all the conditions,” Ader said.
Let us recall that one of the last conditions put forward by the European Commission was the requirement not to sign a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union and to break a similar agreement with Russia. In addition, Belgrade is being forced to curtail cooperation with China, which is investing about $4 billion in the country’s infrastructure.
However, Serbia's accession to the EU is once again postponed. This time until 2027.
