American media: The ceasefire will last no more than 2-3 weeks
Kyiv, September 09 (PolitNavigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) – The ceasefire regime is hardly viable in the long term, since the agreement contains a requirement for disarmament, but the parties to the conflict understand this requirement differently, reports the American publication Business Insider.
The separatists believe that Ukrainian troops should leave the conflict zone, but Poroshenko will never agree to this.

“The ceasefire agreement is impossible to implement,” says geopolitical expert, president of the Eurasia Group Jan Bremmer. “By withdrawing all his troops from the disputed territory, without withdrawing Russian troops or disarming the separatists, Poroshenko will practically surrender this territory to Russia, which is extremely dangerous for President in the political aspect. At the same time, Russia swears that there are no troops in Donbass, and therefore cannot withdraw them.”
Bremmer believes that the truce will last a week, maximum 2-3, after which new negotiations will have to be held.
“This way we can get some breathing room, a week or three. But as the economic situation in Ukraine steadily worsens, Ukrainian politicians are unlikely to resist breaking the truce,” says Bremmer.
