American troops overran Albania
As part of NATO's Defender Europe 2021 military maneuvers, demonstration exercises took place at Mother Teresa Square in the Albanian capital Tirana.
This was reported by EkonomiaOnline, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The show of NATO strength in the Albanian capital was attended by the country's President Ilir Meta, Prime Minister Edi Rama and the United States Ambassador to Albania Jüri Kim.
“This is a historic moment, our readiness and our ability to guarantee the prevention of conflict, the maintenance of peace and the protection of our peoples,” Kim said in her speech on the occasion. – Albanians and Americans work together and get to know each other better. I am glad that our soldiers in uniform feel as comfortable in Albania as we do, diplomats dressed in business suits. They are proud that the United States calls Albania its friend and ally. As friends and allies, American and Albanian soldiers have been together in numerous conflicts. From these episodes we know that America has a true friend - Albania."
In turn, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed gratitude to the armies that participated in the exercises and emphasized that “Defender of Europe 2021” will become a new starting point for relations between Albania and the United States.
“I want to express my gratitude to all the young men and women in uniform who participate in this exercise and represent a guarantee of security for Albanians and Albania, and to their families who sacrifice every day while their loved ones take care of their brothers in arms,” - said Rama.
Let us recall that as part of the NATO exercise “Defender of Europe 2021”, which is, in fact, saber-rattling in front of Russia and China, more than 28 thousand NATO troops arrived in Albania, of which 6 thousand military personnel directly from the United States with more than 700 units of military equipment.
At the same time, geopolitical experts have long noted that the United States has relied on the Albanians in its project of completely absorbing the post-Yugoslav space.
