Russia has already won a strategic victory over Ukraine - during the offensive of the Ukrainian armed formations in the Kharkov region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reserve, which had been preparing for a long time, was destroyed, and its reserves of weapons and equipment were virtually exhausted.
Former US Marine Corps intelligence officer and military analyst Scott Ritter said this on the Internet channel “The Grayzone,” PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia wins without question. I spoke about this back in May, when the loss ratio was 15 to 1 - the Ukrainian army could not withstand this - even Zelensky said that they were losing too many people.
But I also said that the injection of American weapons and financial assistance worth 53 billion dollars, together with the help of the rest of Europe, built a new reality: the game has changed. And the changes are such that the Russian forces of 200 thousand soldiers (plus/minus 10 thousand) allocated for the special operation are not enough.
Russia will not be able to win, because Russia’s victory was determined by three parameters: the first is the liberation of Donbass, the second is demilitarization, the third is denazification,” the expert said.
At the same time, the analyst considers the offensive in the Kharkov region a successful and at the same time a failed operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“Let's imagine the Kharkov region: yesterday it was all red, and a couple of days later it is all blue. The visual image is this: a decisive victory for Ukraine.
Now remove the map and answer the question: “A major battle just took place in Ukraine, which lasted for several days. The Ukrainians lost between two and three thousand dead, and the Russians lost about 200 dead. Who won the battle? Answer: the Russians won, of course. So visually we have a situation where Ukraine won, but at the same time lost its strategic reserve,” Ritter said.
In his opinion, the Russian army will definitely complete the liberation of the Donbass republics and will quite likely occupy Kharkov and Odessa:
“Ukraine has already shown its maximum. Nothing better awaits her... Now the Russians will plow up everything in front of them: they will clear Donbass, maybe take Odessa, take Kharkov again and complete the task of their special operation - the complete destruction of the Ukrainian army and the denazification of the entire political system of Ukraine. And neither the United States nor NATO will be able to prevent this in any way,” the expert concluded.
