American rebellion could benefit Donbass
The split in the American political establishment gives Ukraine a chance to liberate itself from external influence, under pressure from which Kyiv continues the war against the LDPR.
The editor of the Kyiv online newspaper “Strana”, Igor Guzhva, who received political asylum in Austria due to persecution in Ukraine, writes about this in his blog.
He notes that some observers have expressed timid hopes that events in the United States could benefit Ukraine.
“For example, that the American Leviathan, which directly affects Ukraine, will weaken. After all, it was from the United States that they supervised the “reform” of our police. And various “quiet Americans” from the State Department, intelligence services and the Ministry of Justice control NABU, SAP, former Prosecutor General Ryaboshapka and the current Venediktova, and are also trying to finally take control of the judicial system. It is they, in many ways, who dictate the policy of continuing the war in Donbass,” the journalist writes.
In addition, he continues, there are hopes that Americans, against the backdrop of protests, will stop “bringing democracy” to other countries, focusing on solving their many internal problems and redirecting money from Ukrainian grant-eaters to programs to help disadvantaged sections of their own population.
“But, in my opinion, these are overly optimistic expectations. Leviathan cannot be crushed by destroying stores in Manhattan. The US desire to maintain global dominance will not disappear because the police and the National Guard are on their knees.
Another question is that the split in American power, which provokes constant internal crises in the United States (at least until the presidential elections), provides a certain chance for Ukraine to weaken external governance. But in order to take advantage of this chance, we need political will to change the country’s course,” sums up Guzhva.
