American diplomat: Biden will back down on the START-3 treaty
The new US President Joseph Biden and his administration will extend the START-3 treaty and will strive in every possible way to stabilize relations with Russia.
This forecast was voiced by former US Ambassador to Ukraine Steven Pifer during a press conference in Moscow, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The administration of the new US President Joseph Biden, despite the difficulties in relations between Russia and the US, will proceed from the fact that it is necessary to introduce some restrictions in order to regulate the rivalry between Russia and the US, and between NATO and Russia.
This will be different from the position taken by the previous US administration. It is already clear that the Biden administration will extend the START III treaty. I believe the administration will also review the Open Skies Treaty and renew the treaty,” Pifer said.
Let us remember that earlier in Kyiv they said that Biden will strive more improve relations with Russiathan Trump, with whom it was impossible to renew the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.
