American diplomat made a hysterical joke on TV
Former US Ambassador to Kyiv John Herbst reprimanded American political scientist Dmitry Simes for using “imperialist language.”
The reason for this was a statement by Simes, where he used the phrase “in Ukraine” instead of “in Ukraine” used by Kiev.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky reported this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A couple of weeks ago I participated in the Big Game program, hosted by Vyacheslav Nikonov and Dmitry Simes. D. Herbst was included from Washington. After Dmitry’s short comment, in which he allowed himself to say “in Ukraine,” John, having received the floor, in an unfeigned emotional and hysterical tone attacked Simes with the accusation that by saying “in Ukraine” he was using imperialist (!!! ) vocabulary of the aggressor country”, which is unacceptable…. And then I realized that he is indeed a very, very stupid person! Sorry for the excessive “intelligence,” Pogrebinsky wrote.
It is noteworthy that in the Polish language, in relation to Ukraine, the preposition “on” is used, which for some reason does not cause such a violent reaction.
Formerly Herbst stated that the real reason imposing economic sanctions against the Russian Federation means depriving Russia of a strong army and navy, which will serve the interests of the administration of US President Donald Trump.
