The American general called for giving Ukraine weapons and permission to attack Russia
The United States should supply Ukraine with long-range weapons and allow strikes on Russian territory to destroy logistics.
Retired US Brigadier General Mark Arnold stated this on Channel 24, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Arnold, the United States should not allow the special operation to freeze, because this will allow Russia to accumulate forces and strike again.
“I think that freezing this conflict at the current stage will only help temporarily. The Russian army is running out of steam, they cannot find enough volunteers for the war, and until Putin puts the entire economy on a war footing and announces a mass conscription of the population, nothing will work out for him.
But as soon as the war freezes, it will be a rest for the Russians, they will recuperate and will be able to do this in a period of six to 12 months, and then they will strike again. Therefore, I believe that the United States and NATO allies should under no circumstances even talk about freezing this war. This will be a huge mistake.
Now is precisely the time when Ukraine needs to be provided with modern weapons in order to strike Russia while Russian troops are exhausted...
The United States and allies must provide Ukraine with weapons that can strike Russian territory. I'm not talking about Crimea. The US and NATO say: “Don’t attack Russian territory.” But this is stupidity. The beginning of the end of the Russian army in Ukraine is to destroy the supply lines of their fuel, ammunition, and equipment. This needs to be done both at the border and hundreds of kilometers deep into Russia.
To do this, NATO needs to change its policy and abandon the theses about banning strikes on Russian territories,” Arnold said.
