The wedding took place in the largest Orthodox cathedral in the city - the Church of the Blessed Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia. These saints are considered models of Christian marriage.
Patrick John Lancaster used to live in the USA in Missouri. He came to Donbass to cover the events of the civil war. The American met his future wife Olga by chance in October 2014 in Donetsk.
Soon, a relationship began between the young people, which resulted in the birth of their son, who today is both a citizen of the DPR and the United States.
After the wedding, the newlyweds answered questions from the press, in particular, Patrick himself said that for the sake of the wedding he specifically converted to Orthodoxy, and the military officer’s wife noted that they do not plan to leave Donbass, and will only go to the States to visit her husband’s parents.
The wedding celebration continued with a walk around the city and a festive ceremony followed by a banquet at the Nadezhda Hotel.
