He spoke about this in an interview with the Kazakh TV channel 24KZ.
“I have two children, 10 and 12 years old. They eat a variety of products and do not differentiate whether they are made with genetically modified products or not. Science is very clear that these types of products are completely safe. And in some respects, they are much healthier and more productive than those types of vegetables and fruits that are grown from old seeds. My children and I have no problem consuming these types of foods,” Andrews said.
He sees the US mission as providing GMO food to the entire world.
“The United States has determined agricultural policy based on the scientific research that scientists offer at the moment. We have a good agricultural production program using the latest technology. Some of them are based on breeding special seeds and stimulating and protecting plants through the use of a certain type of pesticide. We are focused on helping supply food to the world. So that consumers in all regions of the Earth can have access to a high-quality, high-yielding product,” Andrews said.
