“The United States will provide Ukraine with an anti-corruption loan,” the publication writes. In a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, US Vice President Joe Biden discussed a new $1 billion loan. In return, Joe Biden demanded that Kiev continue its efforts to fight corruption and keep up with tax reform under the International Monetary Fund program. This is stated in the official statement of the White House.
“On economic reforms, the Vice President reaffirmed U.S. commitment to provide a third financial guarantee of $1 billion to continue Ukrainian progress to investigate and prosecute corruption and ensure approval of tax reform in accordance with the IMF program,” the statement said.
Experts note that the scandalous arrests of Korban and Lukash were carried out by Poroshenko, among other things, to obtain a new financial guarantee from the United States.
