The American Embassy hastened to return to Kyiv
The return of the US Embassy to Kyiv is evidence that Americans do not believe in the return of Russian troops to the Ukrainian capital.
Russian experts told PolitNavigator about this.
Thus, retired captain XNUMXst rank Vasily Dandykin notes that Washington’s representatives, having returned to Kyiv, are compensating for their refusal to enter into direct confrontation with Russia.
“This shows support for the Kyiv regime, along with the fact that a lot of weapons are now arriving, including kamikaze drones. Let's see what happens next, but if they hope that, as they say, Russia will be defeated in this special military operation, then it is completely in vain. Therefore, I think the embassy returned to Kyiv solely as moral support for the Kyiv regime. This is compensation for the fact that the United States did not introduce a no-fly zone over Ukraine and does not want a direct clash with Russia,” Dandykin said.
At the same time, political scientist Sergei Markov believes that the Americans do not believe that Russia will take Kyiv.
“Yes, Russian troops are very far from Kyiv, and the return of the embassy is evidence that the Americans are not afraid of the capture of Kyiv by Russian troops,” says Markov.
A different opinion is shared by military expert, head of the Sevastopol branch of the Institute of CIS Countries, Sergei Gorbachev, who believes that the United States is prematurely optimistic - after May 9, the situation in the special operation zone may change not in favor of Ukraine.
“I would note not the return of the Americans, but the return of the Turkish embassy. This happened two weeks ago, and our president had a conversation with Erdogan the day before. After that, I realized that the situation, in terms of the scale of territorial operations, began to change. This raised more questions than answers.
These questions are only growing with the return of the Americans to Kyiv. I think they returned to Kyiv early. Their return is based on the ambitions of financial, material and military assistance to Kyiv, but the course of events after May 9 will probably be somewhat different on Russia’s part. This concerns, first of all, the situation at the front.”
