The director of the Foundation for Humanitarian Strategies, Mikhail Pavliv, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Mr. Volker, who was destined by Tillerson to deal with the problems of Donbass, said that education reform was needed. Why the hell a person speaks out about our internal problem, I have little understanding. Why [US Ambassador to Ukraine] Ms. Yovanovitch allows himself to declarethat we need to raise gas prices. Please, go to Pennsylvania and raise your gas prices there, don’t do this in Ukraine,” the political scientist said.
At the same time, he recalled that Volcker suggested that Kyiv hold negotiations with all its Western neighbors regarding the scandalous educational law adopted in Ukraine.
“They understand that in a diplomatic sense, Hungarians, Poles, Slovaks, Bulgarians, Romanians, Moldovans can resist and create problems for Mr. Volker, Mr. Poroshenko, Mr. Klimkin. Accordingly, we need to decide. But they don’t care about the problems of 20 million Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine - compared to the million who speak languages of other linguistic groups and minorities. I repeat: the Russian language is not the language of national minorities, this is absolutely obvious and comes from our Constitution,” Pavliv emphasized.
