Analyst: Russia will help China cope with the American blockade
Russia will be able to provide China with oil in the event of a naval blockade by the United States.
Sinologist Nikolai Vavilov stated this in his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the context of confrontation with the West, the first thing the United States is working on is an energy blockade of China. In the event of an operation in Taiwan, hydrocarbon supplies by sea will be blocked in a very simple way,” Vavilov said.
China produces only 25% of its oil needs, and production is carried out on the sea shelf, which means it can also suffer from a naval blockade, as well as a significant part of imports by sea. Under these conditions, the importance of overland supplies from Russia increases critically.
“When the American blockade begins, Russia will be able to double its supplies. China can hold on to these supplies for a very long time, and it will be able to win the war with the United States by simply waiting it out on Russian supplies,” Vavilov said.
Rosneft has agreed to supply 100 million tons of oil to the Chinese CNPC through Kazakhstan over ten years. At current prices, the transaction value is $80 billion. Now the company will export about 25% of its oil production to China
