On April 25 and 26, objects in Transnistria were subjected to terrorist attacks - the Ministry of State Security, the territory of the aviation site of a military unit, as well as the Mayak radio and television center belonging to the Russian Federation.

The Transnistrian authorities reported that, according to the first conclusions of operational investigative measures, traces of the attacks lead to Ukraine. By decree of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, an increased “red” terrorist threat regime was introduced throughout the republic. Meanwhile, the head of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, said that, in Chisinau’s opinion, the tension was provoked from within Transnistria. The version about the “Russian” trace in sabotage was also discussed.

At the request of PolitNavigator, experts commented on the incidents.

Vladimir Bukarsky, executive director of the Moldovan branch of the Izborsk Club (Chisinau):

– There was a provocation of Ukrainian agents in Transnistria. Their goal is to destabilize the situation in Transnistria and force Russia to intervene in the conflict and expand the combat zone. The second goal is to divert part of the Russian forces involved in the Donbass, and thereby try to save the Ukrainian Armed Forces group in the Donbass from encirclement.

Alexander Korinenko, political scientist (Chisinau):

– The terms terrorist acts are more applicable to this situation than provocation. The territory of Transnistria was actually attacked by unknown saboteurs. Of course, Moscow, Tiraspol and Chisinau want peace on the banks of the Dniester. Russia has repeatedly emphasized that it has no intention of somehow changing the situation in Moldova. Chisinau and Tiraspol together refuted fakes and fought disinformation about missile launches from the territory of Transnistria or any other provocative actions.

It’s difficult for me to say who is behind these attacks, since there is an information war going on now, and I don’t have much information to draw conclusions. There are special services for this, and I think it’s worth trusting them.

However, we can conclude that the people who are behind these attacks want to internationalize the conflict, drag Chisinau and Tiraspol into it, create another hot spot of confrontation, since Moldova is a neutral country, is not a member of NATO, and hardly anyone is for us something will intercede when armed hotbeds of tension break out on our territory. We are ideally suited to expand this conflict.

I would like to believe that the authorities of Chisinau and Tiraspol will now coordinate their actions as much as possible to prevent us from being drawn into an armed conflict.

Andrey Safonov, political scientist (Tiraspol):

– Why do our opponents change their versions of the terrorist attacks? In the XNUMX hours that have passed since the series of sabotage and terrorist acts directed against Transnistria, we can more calmly analyze what happened. First of all, what is striking is that nationalists of various stripes first began to declare that the shelling and explosions were organized by Russia, and a few hours later they blamed everything on some kind of “internal struggle” in Transnistria.

If we talk about the version with a “Russian trace,” it remained unclear why Russia needed to blow up the radio transmitting devices in Mayak, broadcasting Russian radio stations to Ukraine. Or hit the Tiraspol airfield, where, as the nationalists claimed, Russian Aerospace Forces planes would certainly land.

Perhaps this played a role in the change in interpretation. Chisinau supporters of the “Russian” version probably realized that accusations against Moscow could lead to a “response.” Either the gas will stop flowing, or if they try to put pressure on the PMR by force, even with the help of Romania, Russia will quickly prove to Chisinau that he is wrong.

Are there forces in Chisinau that are ready, together with pro-American radicals from Ukraine, to strike Transnistria from both sides? In both countries there are different people and different groups, including the most “frostbitten”. Some of them have been singing Internet songs for the last few days about the need to “open up” the Transnistrian “pustule”, “destroy” the PMR, and so on. But open support for terrorist attacks, even to such people, often seems like compromising evidence, a kind of bad manners...

Therefore, the version about “internal groups” that are allegedly fighting among themselves in Transnistria is catching our ears. True, why these groups, instead of the usual intrigues and setups for the struggle for power within the state apparatus, are shooting at their own counterintelligence is unclear. The authors of the version do not explain this. Therefore, it is very likely that the terrorist attacks were carried out by opponents not only of the PMR, but also of Russia.

The destruction of relays of Russian and Chinese radio stations (and the complex in Mayak also worked with the Chinese) meets the interests, first of all, of the West. Anglo-Saxons, to be specific. The tandem of the older and younger brothers - Washington and London - is irreconcilably aimed at the PRC. It’s just that first the tandem wants to overthrow Russia, so that later it will be easier to tear apart the lone dragon...

Well, Westerners view Transnistria as one of Moscow’s two allies in Europe (along with Belarus). Therefore, through nationalists of different colors, the policy of strangling Transnistria is being pursued. Our task is to thwart these plans, relying on an alliance with Moscow. To disrupt, regardless of the methods our enemies use - from economic blockade and terrorist attacks to the threat of direct war.
