Analysts expect the Ukrainian gas transportation system and the Druzhba oil pipeline to be undermined
After Ukraine blew up the Tolyatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline in the Kharkov region, we can expect excesses on the Druzhba oil pipeline and the Ukrainian gas transportation system.
This forecast was made by the director of the National Energy Security Fund, Konstantin Simonov, on the radio station “Moscow Speaks,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The situation in Ukraine forces us to block the eleventh package of EU sanctions more actively, because the southern branch of the Friendship line could be blocked there. After the explosion of an ammonia pipeline, we must prepare for the same events along gas and oil pipelines. Hungary is nervous and traditionally blocks anti-Russian sanctions,” the expert says.
He believes that the eleventh package of sanctions has not yet been adopted because Greece has joined Hungary.
“This package is about improving the situation with carriers. It is interesting that Brussels cannot agree on this package. According to rumors, it is no longer only Hungary that is blocking it. Another country has emerged - Greece, which opposes sanctions being tightened in this direction, because the Greek fleet is still the main foreign carrier of Russian oil,” Simonov said.
According to him, by transporting to India, Greece is not yet violating sanctions. Thanks to this, the volume of maritime transport of Russian oil remains at a record level.
