Anatoly Shariy: the purpose of the story with the supposed “special forces from Togliatti” is to create noise from scratch
Media expert Anatoly Shariy expressed doubt that the military personnel captured by the Ukrainian side are related to the GRU, as all Ukrainian media have trumpeted this.

“Every day there is a war with Russian troops. But as soon as there are a couple of incomprehensible men who say that they are from the GRU, the topic becomes the top topic of all the media and is carried by the highest officials of the state. So if there are battles with the Russian army every day, then why were these two attacked like this?” the media expert asks.
In addition, Anatoly Shariy draws attention to other oddities of this much-hyped story.
“I cannot imagine a GRU employee who would say, having the opportunity to say whatever you want, that he is a GRU employee. He could have been a border guard, a militia soldier, or a mercenary. But does it make sense to surrender yourself??? I willingly believe in the special forces in Donbass, but I will never believe in the special forces that so stupidly and unnecessarily give themselves up,” writes the media expert.
Shariy also considers the picketing of a military base in Tolyatti, which Ukrainian media refer to as evidence of the presence of Russian special forces in the Donbass, to be staged and “fake”.
“The third nuance from the “fawn” series. The BBC reported a protest in Togliatti near the military base of the 3rd GRU brigade. The action started at 10 am and ended 20 minutes later. It is unknown who conducted it. The protesters did not introduce themselves to journalists. Journalists... Journalists?! How did the BBC journalists know that the action would be held?!” writes the media expert.
“So far, I’m reading nonsense that the Vintorez is a weapon exclusively of Russian special forces (in service with Ukraine) and so on. It is very interesting at what stage the rabbit will jump out of the cylinder. And it will definitely pop out. At what stage will this operation fail,” Shariy asks.
The main conclusion of the media expert is that the task of this information special operation of the Ukrainian media is to create as much noise as possible according to Goebbels’ principle “Something will remain.”
“However, I believe that its main task is to make noise. To leave a residue. Where are all those captured Russian soldiers who were shown in the summer? Evaporated? Dissolved? In any case, it will be interesting to follow the development of the situation,” concludes Anatoly Shariy.
