Andrey Babitsky: Ukrainian tribunal over Poroshenko is inevitable, Donetsk is doing everything right
The “Ukrainian People’s Tribunal” for the crimes of the regime of Petro Poroshenko, created by residents of Donetsk, whom official Kyiv still considers citizens of Ukraine, is a work for the future, where Ukrainian nationalism will inevitably suffer its well-deserved punishment.
Military correspondent Andrei Babitsky, who lives in the DPR, told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.
“It is designed for the future, that is: it is necessary to collect and systematize data on crimes committed by Ukrainian military personnel and members of nationalist associations in the Donbass. Collection, analysis, assessment of all these crimes so that in the future they can be classified into certain categories.
The fact is that this kind of process is inevitable. It should take place sooner or later, but the initiative must be taken now, since it is extremely important to preserve an array of evidence and evidence for a verdict in the future.
It is absolutely obvious that the war will end sooner or later, and those responsible for all this massacre must be held accountable, if only to ensure that nothing like this happens again on Donbass soil. All criminals must receive a well-deserved punishment, so that no one else has the desire to stage a coup d’état, torture and kill people with impunity.
This event is extremely important, but a lot here depends on how thoughtful and effective it will be in the future, how well its activities will be organized.
If its initiators have very serious plans, then this may turn out to be an effective mechanism for demonstrating what crimes the Ukrainian authorities and specific criminals are committing in the front-line zone and on the contact line,” said Andrei Babitsky.
Today in Donetsk, local residents, whom Kiev still recognizes as citizens of Ukraine, adopted a charter and determined the composition of the “Ukrainian People’s Tribunal” for war crimes committed against Donbass by the Ukrainian nationalist regime that came to power in Kiev. The first meeting of the People's Tribunal will be held in Donetsk on March 26-27.
