Reports appeared in foreign and some Russian media about a dangerous incident that allegedly took place in the Bosphorus Strait, connecting the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara.

Reports say that on February 13 at 09:35 Moscow time in the central part of the Bosphorus Strait, the multi-purpose research ship Enterprise of the British Navy, returning from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean, crossed the route of the auxiliary vessel of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Kyzyl-60, which was traveling from the Mediterranean to the Black Sea.

As the British press quotes the English sailors from the Enterprise, their brave ship made a millimeter and “passed just a few meters” from the Russian ship.

Foreign press reports sound poorly disguised pride in the actions of the British ship, which so cleverly wiped the nose of “these Russian invaders.”

The Enterprise was leaving the Black Sea after three days of NATO maneuvers, participating in joint patrols with ships from Turkey and Romania: in 2017, the alliance formed a new multinational unit in Romania, the existence of which NATO explains is “ensuring a visible presence in the Black Sea”, as well as “ensuring freedom movement in the region and strengthening collective defense."

"Kyzyl-60" was returning to Sevastopol, having left the Russian logistics base in Syrian Tartus. And so, his path is dangerously and contemptuously crossed by the Enterprise, looking dashing and stupid after important exercises.

Apparently, the command of the British ship, together with the British press, takes readers for idiots, wishful thinking.

It is enough to refer to the rules of navigation in the Bosphorus Strait. The strait itself at its narrowest point is only 700 meters wide. At its widest it reaches 6 km. At the same time, the Bosphorus is characterized by a significant intensity of oncoming traffic of warships and vessels, as well as lateral traffic of boats carrying out local passenger transportation from the western to the eastern shore of the strait.

According to shipping rules, ships coming from the Black Sea move along the European coast of the strait, and ships coming from the Mediterranean Sea move along the Asian coast, respectively.

By analogy with the rules of the road, the Enterprise drove into the oncoming lane at an intersection with heavy traffic and passed across it, for the sake of show-off, “know ours,” without experiencing a single collision.

Apparently, even the famous “British scientists” who have seen the most incredible sights will not believe in such a version. The pirouettes of the Enterprise described by the London press in the Bosphorus Strait are impossible even theoretically.

If this is what “ensuring the safety of navigation in the Black Sea” is all about, then the British Navy should try such ship-based street racing somewhere away from our shores. For example, in Gibraltar. Report the results.

Most likely, the epic Romanian-Turkish-British naval patrol experienced an offensively strong lack of attention from the media that one of its participants decided to create it artificially by throwing a stupid fake into the press.

Congratulations, gentlemen, having lied!

As PolitNavigator learned from an informed source in the Crimean law enforcement agencies, there was no incident in the Bosphorus Strait.

“Kyzyl-60” and “Enterprise” passed normally on collision courses at a distance of about 1 cable (about 180 meters), which for this section of the Bosphorus Strait is the absolute norm for all participants in shipping.
