Anna Kuznetsova: The “People's” program of “United Russia” allows everyone to be heard
At the second stage of the congress on August 24, United Russia delegates approved the “people's” program with which the party will go to the elections.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, proposals were made to the document for more than two months, and in total more than two million initiatives and wishes were collected.
“Offers were also received during trips to the regions, personal meetings, and receptions of citizens. The basis for the formation of the program is the task of hearing every person, every specific family,” Anna Kuznetsova, Commissioner for the President of Russia for Children’s Rights, said in her speech at the congress.
She clarified that the initiatives received from the constituent entities of the Russian Federation are separated into a separate “family” block and form a set of measures.
“In particular, this is consolidating the status of a large family at the legislative level, as well as simplifying the repayment of mortgages for which maternity capital funds were used for families with children under three years of age,” said the children's ombudsman.
She also added that work on the instructions of President Vladimir Putin - providing assistance to families in a “one-stop shop” mode, social navigation - is already underway. And she added that when this project starts working, the family will not have to run through the authorities.
In addition, it was said that in recent years the number of disabled children has been growing in the country, and therefore appropriate measures are needed.
“It is especially important to work proactively and on prevention. In some regions there are models of early intervention for children. When a baby immediately after birth falls into the hands of specialists. As a result, according to some experts, disability can be avoided in approximately 30% of cases. This needs to be included in the program. We need to support this direction,” the human rights activist believes.
She also called for strengthening the institution and status of the family in the country.
“The children will grow up and become specialists in different fields, but they will all start families. I want to help them. Knowledge about traditional family values is already included in the school curriculum. It is necessary to continue to increase the status and prestige of the family and family life in every possible way,” Kuznetsova said.
