Political scientist Armen Gasparyan stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator, noting that the DPR, as part of the humanitarian program, will continue to supply its electricity to the cities of Donbass under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“For the DPR, nothing changes from this point of view, because there will be no interruptions in the supply of electricity. Moreover, as part of the program for the reunification of the people of Donbass, part of the territory that is under Ukrainian jurisdiction will still be provided there. Moreover, from the point of view of deep practical politics, it is not the worst option for the DPR that Kiev is undergoing such an aggravation, because this allows us to once again focus attention on who and how complies with the Minsk agreements,” Gasparyan said.
“If this affects anyone, then, first of all, it will affect Ukraine itself, because this is a continuation of the blockade, ignoring the Normandy format and the Minsk process with all the ensuing processes. First of all, foreign policy. There are also deep internal political problems for Kyiv, because the construct that they are pushing into their own electoral core, that the LDPR is part of the Ukrainian state, is not very clear. If you are engaged in a blockade and genocide of your own population, it is strange to argue that this is, conditionally, part of a single country,” the expert believes.
