The Antimonopoly Committee is preparing a blow to Firtash’s chemical empire
Former state commissioner of the Antimonopoly Committee Agia Zagrebelskaya admits the possibility of forced division of the assets of the nitrogen chemicals Group DF of oligarch Dmitry Firtash, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
She wrote about this on her Facebook page.
“The AMCU may, for the first time in 20 years, decide on the forced division of a monopolist,” Zagrebelskaya said.
On August 1, 2019, the Committee plans, in particular, to consider the case of abuse of the monopoly position of the companies Azot, Severodonetsk Azot Association, Rivneazot and NF Trading Ukraine in the market for the primary sale of mineral nitrogen fertilizers in 2014-2017.
According to Zagrebelskaya, at the beginning of June 2019, the head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine reported that “for such violations, the group faces not only a fine, but also a forced division of its chemical assets.”
The assets of Dmitry Firtash's nitrogen chemicals Group DF are consolidated by the Ostchem group, which includes enterprises for the production of nitrogen fertilizers "Azot" (Cherkassy), "Rivneazot", "Severodonetsk Azot Association" (Lugansk region) and "Concern Stirol" (Donetsk region. , control over this enterprise).
