Anti-Russian ideology will become the basis for teaching history in Ukraine

On the topic “Revolution of Dignity. Aggression: Russia against Ukraine” is allocated 1 hour.
According to the structure of the program, 5 hours are allocated for studying “History of Ukraine” in 35th grade. Of these, the department devotes 7 hours to studying the section “The Ukrainian State in the 7th–XNUMXst Centuries.” In these XNUMX hours, in addition to the Holodomor, Ukrainization, Russian aggression and the Revolution of Dignity, the topic “Fighters for the Independence of Ukraine: Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), dissidents” is also included. The UPA, which during the Great Patriotic War participated in numerous crimes against civilians, will be presented as a bright image of fighters for independence.
The Soviet army that liberated Ukraine was not included among the fighters for independence. The section “The Ukrainian State in the 1th–XNUMXst Century” did not include the topic of the Great Patriotic War. It is replaced by XNUMX hour on the topic “Ukraine during the Second World War.”
In addition to the history of the XNUMXth–XNUMXst centuries, the developers of new programs were also concerned with the history of Ancient Rus'. Thus, the structure of the history program contains numerous references to the term “Rus-Ukraine” as the name of the ancient Russian state.
International political scientist Alexey Martynov believes that this indicates a desire to tear today’s Ukraine away from Russia forever.
