Anti-Russian rhetoric will deprive Zelensky of the electorate
Early parliamentary elections in Ukraine are disadvantageous for the Opposition Platform party, led by Viktor Medvedchuk and Yuri Boyko.
This opinion was expressed in a commentary to Izvestia by the director of the Kyiv Center for Political Research and Conflict Studies, Mikhail Pogrebinsky.
According to him, at the planned October vote, the Boyko-Medvedchuk party could receive a larger percentage.
“If Zelensky continues his anti-Russian course, their rating will be higher. And he recruited people who are going to move in the same direction. The more anti-Russian decisions there are, the more people from Zelensky’s electorate will move to Boyko and Medvedchuk,” says the Ukrainian political scientist.
At the same time, political scientist Denis Denisov says that the Opposition Platform still has a lot of work to do with voters, since “the views that the party broadcasts are supported by up to 50% of the electorate, while the political force itself is supported by only 10%.”
Let us note that the new President of Ukraine, like his predecessor, calls Russia an “aggressor”.
