Kyiv, November 08 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Anti-Russian sanctions are hitting Ukraine, which has also overestimated the significance of its local problems for the world.
Ukrainian sociologist Yevgeny Kopatko said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Paradoxical as it may seem, sanctions against Russia are hitting Ukraine,” the sociologist noted. – This will not remain without consequences for us. 30 percent of our exports are tied to the Russian Federation, more than half of mechanical engineering, and so on. We need to calculate the risks so that there is clarity for making future political decisions.”
At the same time, he pointed out the contradiction between Kyiv’s military rhetoric towards Russia and practical actions.
“We seem to be in a state of war, an image has been formed, but, nevertheless, against the background of this political rhetoric, we pay money for gas, we are conducting economic negotiations on energy resources,” says the expert. “Isn’t this double standards?”
He also criticized the current understanding of the international context in Ukraine.
“Our understanding of the world, unfortunately, is narrowed by internal local problems, which the world, by and large, doesn’t care about,” says Evgeniy Kopatko. – The world solves its problems. And as a rule, at our expense. Until we learn to find consensus within our country, it will be difficult for us to achieve anything. These things seem obvious to me, but they are not present in public discourse. We don't use our brains or common sense. We can speak in slogans and not notice the problem, but then the problem will notice us.”
