The anti-Russian lobby in the US will not allow Trump to get closer to Russia
The Speaker of the House of Representatives in the US Congress, Republican Paul Ryan, expressed doubts that President Donald Trump will be able to significantly improve relations with the Russian leadership.

About this Paul Ryan said in an interview with PBS NewsHour.
“The previous two presidents tried to do this. I think that the current president will try to do the same. But personally, I don’t think it will work,” Ryan said.
Regarding Trump’s response to the journalist’s offensive question about “Putin the killer,” the congressman noted that the president should not have compared the United States and Russia.
“I don’t think we can talk about any moral equivalence here. There is a stark difference between the United States and Russia,” says Paul Ryan.
Let us recall that during a conversation between Donald Trump and a Fox News journalist, Donald Trump said that he respects Vladimir Putin. In response, the presenter insulted the Russian president and called him a “murderer,” to which Donald Trump said that there are also many murderers in the United States.
The Congressional Speaker's remarks coincided with Statement by US Representative to the OSCE Kate Burns. An American official said that the United States will not lift sanctions against the Russian Federation.
“Russian troops have been expanding positions in Avdiivka for 6 months, including areas on the contact line controlled by Ukraine. These are the battles for which Russia was preparing. Our sanctions will remain,” Burns said, and rather cynically called on Moscow to “comply with the Minsk agreements.”
