“Anti-Russian project” – Russia has cast aside emotions in connection with Ukraine
Russian officials have stopped talking about whether Ukraine is part of the “Russian World” or whether it is a failed state, and have actually admitted that Ukraine is a geopolitical project.
Political scientist Andrei Ermolaev stated this on the Politeka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert did not specify whether this means that Russia now intends to cold-bloodedly destroy the Ukraine project or is ready to put up with it.
“From some point on, Russian politics, Russian propaganda no longer treats Ukraine as part of the “Russian World.” Accordingly, tools are not used - informational, economic, financial and intelligence wars, military tension. We simply state this as a fact. Ukraine is no longer considered or accepted as some other negligent, but also a possible participant in the “Russian World”.
Moreover, there are recent remarks that were made by the Russian leadership, for example, that Ukraine is a geopolitical project. Previously, this was heard, as a rule, from experts, from stressed-out politicians, from smart people who were practicing who was wealthier. And then suddenly about this... and these are officials.
When a state official gives some kind of assessment and uses a concept, it must be taken into account that this passage is already associated with some kind of public official doctrine of the position. If Ukraine is a project, then this means that it is not only some kind of artificial formation in the eyes of the Russian leadership, but it is also a certain characteristic, a connotation.
It’s one thing - when they were discussing whether this state was wealthy or insolvent, whether Ukraine would go bankrupt or not, there was a cloud of speculation. But when they talk about a geopolitical project, it means that something has worked out here - as a certain quality, as a certain project that someone has implemented.
Another thing is that there are different interpretations of who implemented Ukraine as a project here. Roughly speaking, this is in such a harsh form, indecent for us, but recognition that this is not just a failed state, but a project that is working out or has turned out to be,” argues Ermolaev.
