The anti-Semitic sabbath in Ukraine has reached alarming proportions
The Ukrainian government is playing the “Jewish card” in order to divert the population’s attention from pressing problems in the economy. Former vice-president of the European Jewish Congress, ex-member of the Verkhovna Rada Yevgeny Chervonenko said this on TOPINFORM, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the situation with anti-Semitism in Ukraine is acquiring alarming proportions and only shouts from overseas force the authorities to somehow react to this.
“As a person who was responsible for security and anti-terrorism in the European Jewish Congress for many years, I say that the situation is very threatening and critical. Now, in the last week or two, just a sharp cry from the United States both at Poland and at us has led to the authorities making some empty statements about the fight, but in principle, according to my feelings, the Jewish card is being held as one, so that valve to let off steam in connection with what is happening in the economy and social sphere. They stupidly take money away from people... But relying not on the consciousness of the people, but on a shout from overseas, under which we are in control, is a different question,” Chervonenko said.
