Anti-social budget will hit Zelensky's ratings
Although it was expected from the Ukrainian state budget for 2020 that social payments would be increased, these expectations did not materialize.
Political strategist Oleg Pasternak said this on air on the Kievan Rus TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I understand that the government wants to somehow tighten things up and is introducing classical monetarist principles in economic management. But people’s expectations are as follows: pensions should be increased, minimum wages should be significantly increased. Social benefits should all be increased. And this budget now does not meet these expectations. And by December we will have the first significant declines for Zelensky’s team, in the worst case – a significant drop in ratings,” Pasternak said.
