Putin wants to provoke a split within the Verkhovna Rada so that early parliamentary elections will be held in Ukraine. As soon as this plan begins to be implemented, Putin will do everything to return Donbass to Ukraine.

In his opinion, Putin wants to return Donbass to Ukraine so that pro-Russian residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions have the opportunity to vote and change the configuration of power in Ukraine.
“Now Putin has thrown all his strength into splitting Ukraine from within. First of all, to split the Verkhovna Rada in order to hold new parliamentary elections. As soon as he sees that these plans are real, he will definitely try to return Donbass to Ukraine so that its residents can take part in them,” says Gerashchenko.
According to him, holding elections without Donbass and Crimea led to the emergence of a stable pro-European majority in the Rada. Consequently, Russia will do everything to return the “anti-European” voters of Donbass to the legal field of Kyiv and give them the right to vote.
“Because voters in Crimea and Donbass did not participate in last year’s parliamentary elections, the structure of power in Ukraine has fundamentally changed. The majority in parliament began to belong to pro-European forces. But if Donbass voters get the opportunity to vote again, it is clear that they will support pro-Russian politicians. This could seriously change the balance of power in the country. Therefore, I want to repeat once again, if Putin really feels that Ukraine can be split from within and early parliamentary elections can be held, he himself will do everything to return Donbass to us,” the people’s deputy is confident.
