This information was confirmed by the Lebanese newspaper al-Mustaqbal, which also named Assad’s illness. According to the publication's sources, the Syrian President was hospitalized with an ischemic stroke (cerebral infarction).

The Saudi Asharq al-Awsat newspaper also informed its readers about the hospitalization of Bashar al-Assad.
