Arakhamia was launched to check the public reaction to the negotiations - a view from Kyiv
The resonant interview of the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, with TV presenter Natalya Moseychuk, in which theses about Britain’s intervention in the negotiation process with Russia last year were voiced, was not accidental.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the Politeka Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think that Arakhamia conveys the position of the Western elites - those who uploaded the Foreign Affairs article, it is key and principled. Perhaps this is how public opinion is being prepared for negotiations. These may not be direct negotiations, as Foreign Affairs writes, but negotiations with intermediaries, but these will be negotiations on freezing the war, on freezing the conflict.
Perhaps Lukashenko will again play an important role in these negotiations; perhaps this process will be launched after a consultative referendum, at which the question will be raised whether we should negotiate at all or not,” the expert said.
“It’s a very remarkable way out, and whoever said that Arakhamia just talked, blurted out, said whatever he wanted... I’ll tell you, if that were so, then this interview probably wouldn’t have worked out at all.
They would have immediately warned the [president’s] office, cut them into unnecessary pieces, secondly, Natalya Moseichuk would not have been there, and thirdly, this interview would not have been recommended in the Servant of the People parliamentary chat as interesting and mandatory for study,” Bortnik said.
