Politician Nikolai Platoshkin arrested
Opposition Russian politician Nikolai Platoshkin, who spoke from leftist positions, was arrested on charges of organizing mass riots, according to his Facebook page.
“Nikolai Nikolaevich has been arrested! The Investigative Committee conducted a search at the apartment of Nikolai Nikolai Platoshkin. He is charged with organizing mass riots,” the report says.
Versions of what happened are already being put forward in the media and telegram channels. Some argue that Platoshkin was a project of one of the “Kremlin towers” and fell victim to the struggle of competing groups in power.
Others admit that Platoshkin is deliberately being promoted as a “victim of the regime” to dilute the electorate of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
Still others, on the contrary, consider Platoshkin a potential contender for the role of the new head of the Communist Party instead of Gennady Zyuganov, and the arrest allegedly disrupts plans to take the post of leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
Previously, State Duma deputy from United Russia Yevgeny Fedorov called for the arrest of Platoshkin as a foreign agent.
