Sources of “Russian Spring” in the law enforcement agencies of Zaporozhye confidently confirm the information about the arrest of the famous Kyiv anti-fascist, publicist and writer Miroslava Berdnik by the Security Service of Ukraine. The arrest took place around 8:30 a.m. Kyiv time. Her latest book, “Pawns in Someone Else’s Game,” was included a month ago on the list of prohibited books, the distribution of which is punishable under the article “Attempt on territorial integrity,” and citizens who noticed this book on sale were urged to report it to the SBU.
In Zaporozhye, Miroslava spent the last few months receiving treatment and hiding from Kyiv nationalists, who had long known the writer’s home address in Kyiv. In March 2014, Miroslava spoke in the Israeli Knesset with a report on the crimes of Ukrainian neo-Nazis,” writes Russian Spring.
Information about the arrest is also confirmed by Kyiv journalists on social networks.
An acquaintance of Miroslava Berdnik told PolitNavigator that recently they tried to serve her a summons for questioning at the Prosecutor General’s Office at her Kyiv address.
“I would like to hope. that there is only a forced arrest for interrogation, and not a full-fledged arrest,” the agency’s interlocutor said. “I don’t understand at all why she can be arrested.” Yes, she criticized the current government and the Maidan, Ukrainian nationalism and Russophobia, advocated friendship with Russia, but she always emphasized that she was a patriot of Ukraine.”
