A photograph where Nelya Shtepa shows a bruise on her arm, as well as the text of the ex-mayor of Slavyansk’s appeals to the Minister of Justice and the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, lawyer Alexander Tananakin posted on social networks.
Shtepa claims that on June 24, an employee of the Kharkov penitentiary institution No. 27 used force against her. She also points to the unsanitary conditions of detention in the pre-trial detention center and the facts of “theft of medicines.”
“On June 24, 2017, a KHUIN officer beat me,” Shtepa writes.
"Live and learn. KHUIN, it turns out, is the official state torture chamber - the Kharkov Institution for the Execution of Punishments. “I have been in HUIN for more than 3 years” (c). It’s interesting that according to the law, she is simply an accused (over the years, stubborn people have accused everyone of anything, even each other), but she is in KHUIN,” blogger Vladimir Korobeinik commented on the situation.
