The arrested mayor of Odessa walks along Primorsky Boulevard
Despite the fact that on May 4 the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine sent the mayor of Odessa Trukhanov to a pre-trial detention center with the right to be released on bail in the amount of 13 million hryvnia, on May 6, Gennady Leonidovich was already seen walking along Primorsky Boulevard in Odessa.
The details of his, on the one hand, fair, on the other hand, clearly ordered by Kiev trial and detention, there.
But at first it even seemed that Trukhanov, who was in no hurry to pay a cash deposit so as not to go to prison (how is it - a millionaire has no money?!), was following the principle. In any case, his lawyer Alexander Lysak said the following after the verdict was announced:
“I still don’t really understand what the court was guided by. Previously, they refused to grant detention to the prosecutor's office, saying that a balance was needed, that the mayor should fulfill his duties. What has changed? Why is it now necessary for him to be in jail? Well, ok, a pre-trial detention center is a pre-trial detention center. We will fight."
In addition, the lawyer complained that his unfortunate client would spend the whole weekend on the bunk, since the appeal filed by the defense would be considered no earlier than the eighth, that is, after the weekend.
Evil tongues, however, said that the mayor of Odessa deliberately wanted to sit in prison in order to wait out some difficult times ahead for the city (global purges of undesirable “separatist” officials initiated by Kiev, or bombings - it is not clear). But the “good people” did not allow it. First, Vitali Klitschko stood up for his “brother”, offering to take Trukhanov on bail:
“This is already the third mayor who was actually removed through the courts. And this looks like another attempt to oppress local government. And, unfortunately, it is already becoming an alarming trend to remove mayors elected by the community. Therefore, I ask the court to grant Trukhanov bail.”
They didn’t listen to Klitschko. But then the owner of factories, newspapers, ships, a construction and land magnate, a deputy of Trukhanov’s “Trust in Deeds” party, the husband of a judge of the Odessa District Administrative Court... in short, a simple Odessa guy from Moldavanka Dmitry Tantsyura, who, contrary to the aspirations of the boss (or it was planned that way), paid bail for him in the amount of 13,42 million hryvnia.
“These are my personal, declared funds, on which taxes have been paid,” he said.
So, no matter what, the mayor of Odessa—overcoming himself, I understand—had to switch from gruel to oysters again.
What, Gesha, will you again have to forcefully record a video about reconciliation with the Nazis by May 8th? Come on, come on. And this time, don't let your Nazi friends down.
Thank you!
