Arrested Senator Arashukov turned out to be cooler than the Crimean referendum
Senator from Karachay-Cherkessia Rauf Arashukov, arrested on suspicion of, among other things, involvement in two murders, was elected to the Federation Council of the Russian Federation with many violations of Russian legislation.
Deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Valery Rashkin stated this today from the rostrum of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why was no one surprised that Arashukov’s average in three elections exceeded 98% of the votes. Such a result was unimaginable not only for Putin, but even for the Crimean referendum on joining Russia, in which people were really motivated to vote so that the Ukrainian punitive forces would not kill them,” Rashkin said.
He proposed to “thoroughly scour” the Federation Council and the State Duma of the Russian Federation for the presence of “other Arashukovs.”
“So that no one has dual citizenship or a residence permit. Please give instructions to the relevant commission. Anyone who lives out of a suitcase has no place in power today. An alternate airfield for a parliamentarian, official or civil servant abroad is a threat to national security. The same applies to real estate abroad,” Rashkin said.
According to him, a bill has already been prepared on the inadmissibility of deputies and senators owning real estate abroad, “especially in NATO countries.” The Communist Party of the Russian Federation also insists on a ban on studying abroad for the children of deputies and officials.
“At any moment they can be captured, like Maria Butina, and they will try to use it to put pressure on high-ranking parents. They’ll try to recruit, no one is safe,” Rashkin said.
