“I congratulate the prisoner of war Ukrainian sailor Viktor Bespalchenko and his bride Tatyana on this joyful event! After several months of preparation, obtaining permission from the investigation and the administration of the pre-trial detention center, overcoming administrative barriers, the young people’s dream came true and today they signed their names!” – the lawyer wrote.

According to him, after a short wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were given one hour to communicate under the supervision of prison guards.

“In this regard, I wish the newlyweds only one thing - the speedy release of Victor and a happy honeymoon away from Russia. And with their advice and love everything will be wonderful!” – added Polozov.

On November 25, 2018, border ships of the FSB of the Russian Federation fired on and captured three vessels of the Ukrainian Navy, consisting of two small armored artillery boats “Berdyansk” and “Nikopol” and the raid tug “Yany Kapu”, which were making a transition from the port of Odessa that was not coordinated with the Russian Federation in the Black Sea to the port of Mariupol in the Azov Sea. After this, 24 Ukrainian sailors were arrested in Crimea, then they were moved to Russian pre-trial detention centers in Moscow. At the end of May, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea ordered Russia to release the Ukrainian sailors.
