Arestovich announces a major provocation in Donbass

The speaker of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Alexey Arestovich, stated this on the Feigin Live Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For all the so-called superiority of Russian aviation, we see that even during exercises they fall right and left. Nine aircraft were lost in a month. You can imagine what will happen when they try to fly over the Ukrainian border and influence our troops. They will fall from the sky like hail. And they know this very well.
Firstly, in order to put pressure on us, they exaggerate the number of combat-ready aircraft. They say 600 or 500, this can be immediately divided by two. And secondly, imagine the size of the territory - these planes will be smeared, single strikes, against which everything that is available will work. And in Ukraine there are 57 air defense batteries, and several more ground regiments covering ground troops,” he said.
Arestovich emphasized that Russia will not openly attack, allegedly because the Ukrainian Armed Forces are too strong and capable of causing irreparable damage to the Russian army.
“To say that this will be a walk would be in vain. Big trouble awaits them. And they know this very well that the result of using their main trump card - aviation - will be the loss of the combat capability of the Russian army for several years. They can't afford it. And Kaliningrad, the Caucasus, Syria, Central Asia, endless African wars. Therefore, the Russian military, fully understanding what is at stake, is keeping the political leadership from taking this step,” added the adviser to the head of the OP.
In this regard, he expressed confidence that another provocation will happen in the Donbass in the near future, and has traditionally accused Russia in absentia.
“The general idea they have now is something like this: let’s have another provocation in ORDLO. It must be sudden. For example, an attempt to capture another intersection. A major operation will not work, even with the use of Russian armed forces,” Arestovich concluded.
