Arestovich ruled out the collapse of Russia and discord between the elites
Russia is not in danger of collapse, and there is no point in hoping that the elites will be disunited and stage a coup.
Advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich said this in an interview with fugitive Russian liberal propagandist Yulia Latynina, recognized as a foreign agent, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Arestovich, the opposite should be expected - under the threat of the collapse of the elite, on the contrary, they will be united and rally for the sake of preserving the country.
“I extremely doubt the collapse of Russia. I think that the collapse of Russia is a very exaggerated story, it seems to me. On the contrary, it seems to me that the elites will close ranks against the backdrop of the threat of possible collapse, against the backdrop of the Weimar syndrome, that is, the desire to recoup defeat,” the official said.
“If we are very lucky, there will be a troubled time, but I don’t see any prerequisites. In order to close ranks, I see. This is a matter of personal survival for everyone and the personal survival of their beloved, dear Russian Federation, in which they believe. I don’t yet see any reason to scatter, split up, create a time of troubles at all,” Arestovich said.
