Arestovich will not stop. Now he is going to change the “historical fate” of Ukraine
Ukraine has been in a “stuck” state for about 400 years, and therefore this state of affairs should be changed and stop being anti-Russia.
Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, who had previously proposed renaming Ukraine to Rus', said this on air on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I want to change the historical fate of Ukraine. It seems to me that what we have gotten stuck in over the last 300-400 years is a kind of winglessness... The modern Ukrainian idea among the masses, as it is presented, is anti-Russia. This means that it is an idea that has no independent essence. At least no one can present it. And all psychologists know that counterdependence is worse than addiction. Building a state on the fact that we are not them is a very bad story,” the adviser said.
“I believe that Ukraine, if the political myth is correctly constructed, is capable of laying claim to an independent entity that will complement our national self-identification with a certain projective principle. This is not a closure in the “cherry orchard near the hut,” but the creation of a nation or part of a nation in which people want to go beyond the horizon in every sense. In science, in art, in politics, in military affairs, in space exploration, and so on and so forth. We lack this vein, but we had it,” said Arestovich.
